Nail Update: Dusky
Can you believe I've never tried Ciate nail polishes before? Someone as obsessed with all things nails and it's taken me this long to try one of the most talked about brands. Even now I only got some because they were free with InStyle mag and who doesn't love a freebie? But it turns out they really live up to the hype! Such a nice buttery formula, that sounds weird for a nail polish doesn't it? Like, of course it's buttery, but yeah, not too runny, not too cloggy, you get where I'm going. This is the shade 'Iced Frappe' which is a really nice pinky/lilac/nude (quite hard to define!), but I also got the shade 'Pillow Fight' which is more grey/lilac and you can see a pic on my insta! I've had both of these on this month and they have barely chipped at all, each of them lasting a week and only then I changed them because I get bored easily. Definitely a brand I'm keen to try more of!
Are you a Ciate fan? Any recommendations?

Greyscale
My name's Emma and I have a problem. I can't stop buying faux fur coats. I have six now, and while that might not seem like many to some, for me and my lack of wardrobe space and coat rails, it is. I picked up this monochrome one from H&M in a sale pre-Christmas when I should have been spending my money on presents (oops). I could justify it easily enough because of the sale and because it's so unlike any other coat I own, it's definitely a more extravagant piece than the rest of my boring wardrobe! Textures and patterns are very *in* at the moment aren't they? And to mix them both with a black & white colour scheme seemed all too perfect for me. It's super soft and super cosy, and I love the collared neckline of it. I'm also totally in love with dungarees and jumpsuits at the minute so what better outfit to create than adding it to my trusty black dungas? The grey F21 booties finish the look nicely with zero colour, just how I like it.

High End Discount Beauty Haul
You know when you're just feeling down and start window shopping online to cheer yourself up, but it turns into splurge after splurge? Yeah I've done that quite a few times this month. Ain't nothing wrong with putting yourself first sometimes! Aside from my MAC lipsticks and the occasional Nars pick, I've never really been one for high-end make-up. I tend to stick to drugstore buys, mainly for convenience, but I decided to test a few new things out!
Viktor & Rolf, Flowerbomb 50ml £61.45 | Nails Inc, Westminster Bridge matte top coat £2.95
Flowerbomb is my absolute favourite perfume. It's such a perfect scent for me, fruity but musky and girly but not at the same time, plus, look how cute the packaging is! This was the catalyst for my splurge on allbeauty.com. I knew I needed a new bottle and my mum actually suggested the site because it sells everything at discount, so obviously I had to check it out. This bottle size (RRP £69) might not seem like the greatest saving, but every little helps right? And the savings on each product vary so much it's definitely worth a look.
I also got a Nails Inc matte top coat which I used in my recent Nail Update, which for less than a fifth of the price (RRP £15) was my favourite bargain. It works amazingly and is so much easier than buying all your favourite nail colours in a matte formulation!
Estee Lauder, Double Wear All-Day Glow BB £26.95 | YSL, Touche Eclat £22.50
As I mentioned, I've not tried many high-end products so these are both new to me. I'm not a big fan of full coverage foundations, especially for daily wear, and since the Estee Lauder double wear range is so popular I thought I'd try the BB Glow. I got this in Intensity 2.0 and I really love the consistency.
The Touche Eclat is a product I've thought about getting for so long now! I'm always trying new concealers for under my eyes and I love a glowy make-up look so it seemed perfect for me. It's not the highest coverage (and doesn't claim to be) but it is a new glowy concealer and goes super well with the BB for a dewy everyday look!
Elizabeth Arden, 05 Ginger £6.99 | Estee Lauder, Rose Tea £5.99 | YSL, Satin/Shine Lip Duo £4.99
My favourite buys, however, are these 3 babies! I'm 100% a lipstick girl and am always looking for new shades to add to my collection. I picked these up on saveonmakeup.co.uk and they were such good bargains! The Elizabeth Arden and Estee Lauder ones are RRP £21 and the YSL £24.99! So I was obviously very happy with what I paid. The EA shade is a really nice orange/slightly berry toned nude while the EL shade is more pinky, very similar to MAC Whirl. The YSL duo consists of a satin lip colour in a dark berry shade and a nude gloss to go with. They're all super nice consistency and long-lasting formulas, I'd definitely recommend checking out the site, the stock is constantly rotating.

Statement Bag
Quite often with my outfits, I like to keep the clothes minimalist and go for a statement bag or shoes. I was looking for a coral bag for a while last year and actually included this one in a Topshop lust list I did a few months ago! It's the mini berders holdall (which I can now only find online in yellow) and is such a perfect size and style for me, I've been using it most days since I got it.
The handles on this are quite small so I'm a bigger fan of the shoulder strap, but it's still nice to have the choice isn't it. It's such a good sturdy bag and I'm obsessed with the snake effect pattern that it's edged with! The gold hardware is also super nice. Basically, I don't think there's anything I don't really like about it? 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Fan of a statement bag?

Fashion books for the coffee table | pt. 2
So I did a part one to this post a couple of weeks back and here's the rest of the books that I have! As I mentioned in that post, I like lots of easy-to-read books based around fashion just as much as I enjoy reading novels or biographies. And I also threw one of my favourite colouring books into this post because it's amazing!
Vogue is like the ultimate high fashion magazine that everyone knows and loves. I bought the Vogue postcards a couple of years ago and have some framed on my wall, and now recently I got this book "In Vogue: An Illustrated History of the World's Most Famous Fashion Magazine". It's a pretty hefty book! It goes into detail about all kinds of influencers, different photographers who have worked with the magazine and just general history of Vogue and fashion in general. Plus there's some amazing photos.
This is the Parisian Street Style colouring book which was a Christmas gift and it's so different to the other colouring books which I have, yet is exactly my ideal kind of book! It has a variety of styles to colour, such as the flat lay kind of images, portraits and scenes. It's one of those books you daredn't mess up because you want it all to look so pretty!
Alongside the Parisian style colouring book is the "How To Be Parisian" book. This is one that I have heard so many people talk about for such a long time that I never wanted to buy into the hype. I did in the end though (obviously) and I don't regret it one bit! It's such a good, light-hearted read! I don't know what I expected, but I didn't expect it to be this funny and teach you a lot about yourself and personal style. It's definitely worth the hype.
This is just one of those random books that sounds fun and it's in the sale so you think 'why not add it to my basket?'. I didn't really know what to expect with this book, it's written by costume designer Alison Freer and it's full of all kinds of little tips and tricks for polishing your outfits, making you style unique and the worst fashion rules that everyone should break. It's written in such a relaxed, approachable tone and has a lovely black and gold theme which I'm a fan of!
Have you got any fashion book recommendations?
