So I seem to have done a few 'sorry I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but I'm back now!' kind of posts in my short time blogging, and it's not something I like to do, but really, I've just not been in a great place personally. (Maybe one day I'll do an in depth post about my mental health?) Anyway, things are looking a lot brighter now so this should be happening less, unless of course I simply don't get chance to shoot any outfit photos because the weather in the north of England sucks!
Instagram, however, is the one place I am always consist on. My feed may not be the greatest, I can't stick to a theme and I don't go to very many aesthetically pleasing places to get great photos, but I always post at least 4 times a week, if not daily tbh. It's kinda upsetting that my growth on there is so slow, but ~woe is me. I know a lot of people get flack for their instagram use and how 'you only see the highlights' but isn't that the whole point of it?

This is probably all seeming a bit random and rambly, but for me, when I'm having bad days and can't get myself out of bed or don't want to talk to anyone, Instagram is the one place that helps me feel like I've got my life together. Sad, isn't it? But it doesn't require words, like twitter, and it's only a single photo as oppose to a shoot for the blog, and sharing a flat lay that makes my day look more aesthetically pleasing than it is, or an OOTD from the previous day that I was too busy to share, is actually a great accomplishment when I'm at my worst. And why should we be tearing people down for doing something so seemingly harmless that makes them feel good?

Yeah, you might be sick of seeing avocado on toast (aren't we all, a little?) but if you're proud of making that meal then go ahead and share it! If you've saved up for months to buy that new macbook, post a damn photo of it if you want to, it's your social media to share whatever the hell you like.

Annoying algorithms aside, Instagram is my favourite social media platform, and I just hate the whole 'instagrams such a bad influence for young people' because they choose who to follow, and if you don't have the capacity to understand that you're only seeing someones highlight reel, then you shouldn't be on there. Sorry.
Side note - I'm actually quite enjoying the instagram stories too - soz snapchat!

Everyone needs a little rant once in a while.
