Currently Playing:

So way back when, I went through a bit of a phase of doing monthly playlists, which then turned into seasonal playlists before being abandoned altogether. But I like my music, so I thought I'd get back into the swing of it with a little playlist of what I'm loving at the moment, and essentially I could've just linked you the whole Harry Styles album, but I'ma play it cool and do a mixed playlist. I like to think I have somewhat ~good music taste, but doesn't everyone? I'm mainly indie, a bit of pop, occasional rap, plenty rock but no metal, a good mix really. But a large majority of what I listen to simply comes via the Radio 1 playlist because I am just that basic. The Spotify discovery section is also v good for finding new artists too, based on what you like listening to!
A lot of what I've been listening to recently has also been influenced by the One Love Manchester concert too, because how could it not be?

Any recommendations? I'm always looking for new music!

Girly Dressing?

We've all seen that Realisation Par dress, haven't we? The Alexandra, a.k.a the dress of Summer '16. Quite floaty, flouncy and girly. Exactly the style that I never, ever, thought I'd find myself wearing. But when there's just consist hype around something, I can't help but be intrigued! I'm quite the opposite with hype around TV shows and films, I never bother with them because I feel like I'll be expecting too much - but clothes are my thing, and I'm a sucker for the hype!

So even though I got sucked into the hype around this, I still wasn't up for the three figure price tag! When I popped into H&M the other week and saw a similar style in the sale, however, I couldn't help myself. It's such a flattering shape and for £10 it would've been stupid not to. (I say flattering shape, but it's very baggy around the chest on me, hence why I wore a cute little bralet to peak through and cover me a little more).

As I mentioned, this is very unlike my usual style. As you can probably tell, I'm not the most girly. When I was just 18 months old I point blank refused to wear any dresses (after my mum had spent a small fortune buying all the pretty dresses) and this lasted a good few months and is still a story which my mum *loves* to tell! Throughout school, past the obligatory primary school summer dress phase, I only ever wore trousers. I don't remember ever owning a school skirt and definitely didn't join every other girl on that whole 'skirts as short as belts' trend! I also remember being 12 years old and having a super fancy family party to attend which actually stated 'girls must wear skirts/dresses' on the invite *insert eye rolling emoji x100* and my mum had to call and ask if I could wear jeans and a ~fancy top instead (they said yes, and I spent the evening running around a posh hotel, playing in the lifts, being v comfy!). So the sporadic frequency at which I wear skirts and dresses now is actually the most frequent I've ever worn them, and this is due to me having found my own style. I can wear a dress and put my own twist on it, make it an outfit that I'm comfortable in. Hence why I teamed this dress up with a fedora and DM's for a lil twist.

Wearing: Dress, H&M - Fedora, Primark - Boots, Doc Martens - Bag, Stella McCartney (not online)

Pops & Curls

When everyone was getting chopstick curlers at the back end of last year, a part of me wanted one but at the same time, thought that I'd look ridiculous so there was no point. My mum knew this, so got me one for my birthday a few weeks back because she just knows when I need that little push to try something. So I tried it, with a little help from YouTube, and well, it was a resounding success if I do say so myself! My hair is naturally a bit curly, but nothing like this. I'm obsessed! It doesn't actually take as long as you'd think (15-20 minutes maybe?) and with a bit of hairspray it lasts super well overnight. I got the Mark Hill model, if anyone's interested, and would 100% recommend.

So obviously with a newly styled do, I had to get a shoot in for the blog didn't I, otherwise what a waste of a hairstyle! And for some ridiculous reason, I decided that a country road in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms, fields and wind turbines would be ideal? It was predictably very windy (who would've thought, next to a bunch of wind turbines, huh?!) and a tad on the cold side, but I battled through. I'm just glad the road was so quiet because national speed limit and tripods in the road wouldn't be a good combination, I presume!

I saw these jeans on Liv's Instagram a few weeks back and was straight on that liketoknowit link! They remind me of the old 90's diaspora track pants that had the poppers up the sides, and anything 90's style I am all about! They actually fit super well and the poppers are very firm, so they don't just come undone when you sit down which is a big relief tbh. Nobody wants to be seeing these thighs, lemme tell you!

Wearing: Jeans, Missguided - Jacket, QED London via TK Maxx - Top, Urban Outfitters (no longer available) - Boots, Office (no longer available) - Necklace, ASOS
